As one travels the back roads in our neighborhood, you will be surprised to find some of the most exciting and beautiful hand-crafted artwork, woodcrafts, and pottery. Many artisans live and work in our neighborhood because they find the community has an atmosphere overflowing with peaceful natural beauty where they allow their creative skills to flourish without worldly distractions.
Take a peek inside at the Neighborhood Treasures map on page 6 where you can locate many out-of-the-ordinary treasures. It’s just down the road,over the hill, around the next bend, past the big white barn, take a right and you’ll be there. There is where you’ll find something really extraordinary.
Traveling on our back roads in search of something very special is a treat in itself. First, to fully appreciate our world, you must slow down to the speed of a walking horse to get a clear view of the scenery. Turn off the radio, the CD or MP3 player and cell phone to minimize dis-tractions. Roll down the windows and take a breath of sweet Amish country farm fragrances. Be careful! It’s addictive".
