The first leg of the trail is scheduled to be in place by early spring and will run from the city of Coshocton to Holmes County, following State Routes 83 and 643. Theresa Scheetz is designing the quilt patterns that will be used for Coshocton's Quilt Barn Trail from Coshocton's historic family quilts.
The Quilt Barn Trail movement began in Adams County, Ohio, by Donna Sue Groves, in honor of her mother, who is a noted Ohio quilter. Similar trails are now in several Ohio counties and surrounding states. For information on a couple of Ohio's Quilt Barn Trails, visit www.appalachiandiscovery.com or www.athensohio.com.
For more information on Coshocton's project, visit www.pomerenearts.org or call 740- 622-0326. Monetary donations for Coshocton's Quilt Barn Trail can be made to the Quilt Barn Project, c/o The Pomerene Center for the Arts.
