Nestled in the rustic surroundings of seven acres of beautiful woods lies a very special hideaway. Wildwood Hill Cabin, a modern day log cabin home, offers guests a relaxing place to escape from the cares of everyday living and return to a simpler time and place. Surrounded by Ohio’s bucolic Amish countryside, the cabin makes it possible to have complete privacy yet be within minutes of many popular tourist attractions.

From the moment you open the front door, you’ll know you’ve arrived at your dream destination, whether it’s for a honeymoon, an anniversary celebration, or a family retreat. Freshly baked cinnamon rolls, delicious cookies, or a loaf of Mary Ellen Beachy’s fragrant homemade bread will be on the table to welcome you into the cheery sunflower motif getaway. With a gorgeous fireplace in the living room for chilly nights and air-conditioning for hot summer afternoons, you’re assured comfort in all seasons. For warm weather cookouts, grill savory steaks at the additional front porch gas grill or stack on the wood at the fire ring and enjoy an old-fashioned hot dog and marshmallow roast under the stars. Later in the evening, regardless of the weather, end your day with a long soak in the luxurious hot tub on the screened-in porch, or spend quiet time listening to night sounds from the comfort of the gently creaking porch swing.

The woods encircling Wildwood Hill Cabin are shared by wildlife. Guests take pleasure in observing deer as they come to the salt lick, as well as seeing other animals and birds. Without the noisy distractions of television or computers, you’ll have plenty of time for a leisurely stroll down the path to the creek, much to the delight of any children in your party.

Inside the cabin itself, you’ll find all the amenities of home - a refrigerator with icemaker, stocked with soft drinks and complimentary snacks, microwave, fresh linens, cookware and utensils - everything you need to retreat from the world in your own private haven. Healthy, on-the-go breakfast supplies are also provided. The cabin sleeps up to four adults comfortably, with a queen size bed in the loft and a pull out sofa bed in the living area. There is plenty of additional room for children. Candles and a gas fireplace provide a cozy ambiance. A full laundry area in the lower level also features a stocked play area to keep the little ones occupied.

Your Amish-Mennonite hosts are the Mark and Mary Ellen Beachy family. Mark, who also serves as a local tour guide, can provide you with plenty of innovative ideas on ways to spend your days should you choose to venture away from the woods. The Beachys wish for their guests to experience the way of life that they themselves enjoy every day. “We want our guests to make memories and reconnect with each other. This is the perfect place to do it. It’s quiet, and it’s peaceful. It really is off the beaten path, and well secluded. We’re hoping that people can make memories by reconnecting with those they love,” explained Mark Beachy.

Wildwood Hill Cabin is located 10 minutes from Sugarcreek and Walnut Creek, and just 15 minutes from Berlin.
