An Evening of Angels

Even though the holidays are busy for everyone, it’s still important to make time to spend with family while taking in the sights and sounds of the season. It’s also the time of year to help others. On Friday, Dec. 4, area residents can enjoy a fabulous concert and help others by attending the third annual An Evening With Angels, a Christmas concert benefiting P.A.L. Mission. Tickets are on sale now for the concert which will begin at 7 p.m. at NewPointe Community Church (located on SR 39 between Dover and Sugarcreek). Concert goers will not only enjoy the entertainment of “angels” but will also be “angels” themselves.

All concert proceeds will directly benefit P.A.L. (Preparation for Adult Living) Mission, a non-profit organization that reaches youth, including young men and women in foster care and homeless young adults throughout the area.

Angels scheduled to perform at the Christmas concert include the following: Jamey and John DiFonzo (lyrical mimes from the New Life Church of God), Christy Bloom (artist), Canton First Christian Youth Arts, Dover High School Steel Drum Band, Roxanne Timberlake, David Fisher, Scott Miller, New Philadelphia First Christian Church Worship Choir, Shiloh Mountain Trio and Corrie Johnson. Lorenz said that with a mix of traditional and contemporary Christmas music, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the two-hour concert as well as something quite unique.

Making her debut at the concert this year will be popular local artist, Christy Bloom, who will create a chalk drawing with a surprise ending while being accompanied by vocalist Roxanne Timberlake.

Tickets are available at Bearly Worn children’s store at New Philadelphia, Lavender Bridal Salon at Dover, Berean Christian Store at Canton, and at www.palmission.org. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger. Concert proceeds support all P.A.L. Mission programs; however, this year, donations are especially needed to improve the housing for the Tuscarawas County P.A.L. House, an adolescent girls group home that provides life skills training education and career development to teen girls in foster care.

Donations to P.A.L. Mission in any amount can be made in honor or in memory of someone. All donors will receive a certificate that can be given to the person who is being honored or to the family of the person being memorialized. Donations can be made at the concert, online at www.palmission.org, and/or by sending a tax-deductible donation to PAL Mission Development Board, P.O. Box 14, New Philadelphia 44663.
