Evening to Remember series


The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory of Dover, New Philadelphia, and Strasburg are announcing a special event as a part of the Evening to Remember series, which highlights the funeral home’s Famous Endings collection of funeral mementos.
This special Evening to Remember will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., in the Kent State Tuscarawas auditorium and will feature Robert Boetticher, funeral director to the famous.


Boetticher has coordinated and directed some of the most visible funerals in recent history, including Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan; former first lady, Lady Bird Johnson; Senators Ted Kennedy and Lloyd Benson; Admiral James Stocksdale; entertainers Merv Griffin, Anna Nicole Smith and Farrah Fawcett; NBC’s Tim Russert; and Eunice Kennedy Shriver, among many others.


He is the president of the National Museum of Funeral History and has also lent his hand as a consultant on programs like HBO’s award winning Six Feet Under and the 2002 Martin Scorsese film, Gangs of New York.


This Evening to Remember program, entitled State Funerals in the 21st Century, is free and open to the public, but registration is required. To register, call Toland-Herzig at 330-343-6132.
