Customer satisfaction guaranteed at the Mullet Cabinet Design Center

By Jennifer Kneuss

The first thing most people notice when stepping into the Mullet Cabinet Design Center is the sense of beautiful design and stunning color.

“I think we probably have one of the best showrooms in the state,” commented Jordan Mullet, who, along with his brothers, Vince and Nick, and father, Dean, jointly own and operate the custom cabinetry business. “We have tried, throughout the design center, to inspire creativity with our displays.”

A gorgeous kitchen, with a luminescent green glass-topped island work center, draws the customers in as they enter the design center. It is impossible to resist the urge to run your hands over the satin smooth finishes that are highlighted in the display.

Another piece of glasswork is embedded with an artistic, hand-painted underwater scene. Several other kitchens highlight exotic woods and exceptional color combinations, including another kitchen island with a top created of colorful African zebrawood.
“We show a lot of different styles, all in a lifestyle setting,” said Jordan Mullet, of the rooms that welcome guests.  “We show kitchens, baths, office space, a laundry room – even a wet bar.” The famous Heirlooms line allows customers to choose any combination that they desire, coupled with the Levant Kitchen Furniture line that is semi-custom made.

In addition to the approximately 3,500-foot design center, customers have access to a comprehensive selections gallery.  There, they can look over a multitude of colors, stains, finishes, and raw materials. Hundreds of unique hardware pieces are displayed along one wall, in finishes including gold and silver tones, pewter, brass, and glass. Experienced personnel, including four on-staff designers, can then guide them through every aspect of the design process, one step at a time, until the customer finally can envision the finished room of their dreams.

“We are the only manufacturing facility in Ohio which has the Color Expert System,” explained Mullet. “We manufacture our own stains, paints, and glazes in-house, custom ordered. It is a consistency system, and weighs up to 1/10 of a gram for exact matching. Lamar Troyer is our color stylist. He has been schooled and trained by the best. Lamar interprets the customer’s vision and makes it a reality.”

At Mullet Cabinet, a customer can bring in a favorite color vase or swatch of fabric, and ask Troyer to blend it with another favorite finish to create a completely new color product. The result may be smooth, satin, crackled, or distressed, but Troyer has the unique gift of being able to work with the customer-provided samples and end up with the perfect complementary piece.

Mullet Cabinet is very conscientious about the work they do, both about customer satisfaction and the environment. “All of our products are low VOC finished, and green friendly. They exceed EPA regulations,” said Troyer. He works with the designers and state-of the-art machinery such as CAD and 3-D drawings and CNC machinery. He and the rest of the team collaborate to create the ultimate finished product.

The 90,000 square-foot manufacturing facility provides a great deal of quality and versatility for Mullet Cabinet Design Center and the products they create. “All of our products are backed by the Mullet Family Promise Guarantee. We’ve been in business 34 years because of those relationships – because the customer is satisfied!”
