Holmes with a View Bed
and Breakfast offers best view and ‘suite-est’ deal

Considered by many
former guests to have one of the best, if not the best view in Holmes County,
Paul & Miriam Grossi, owners of Holmes with a View Bed and Breakfast,
agree.
The Grossi’s aren’t the only ones who think they’ve got quite a corner on
lodging in Holmes
County. A few comments
from past guests include: “perfect romantic spot with every convenience”, “there
is no comparison”; “peaceful setting”; better than a dream come true, perfect
getaway”; not until you experience it can you really grasp how wonderful it is”;
“a little bit of heaven”; “a home away from home”.
A distinct level of accommodation has been achieved by offering a very unusual
and special layout when it comes to the area’s lodging options. As the only
circular accommodation in Holmes
County, its one-of-a kind
design offers a spectacular panoramic view of the valley below and the
surrounding Amish farmland. Upscale décor, custom upholstered furniture, all
wood floors, antiques and a very pleasing color palette all contribute to the
uniqueness of Holmes with a View. Many guests request the brand of paint and
the specific colors used.
Holmes with a View is located in a secluded and peaceful setting, yet it’s also
very convenient to all the shops, activities and restaurants that cater to the
Amish style cooking. Guests of Holmes with a View appreciate the amenities that
are offered, the attention to detail, the cleanliness of the suites, and the manner
in which they are maintained. The two person whirlpool tubs, gas fireplaces,
entertainment centers and free wireless Internet service add to the enjoyment
of their stay.
The Grossi’s recognize how important and special a private get-away is for most
people and are happy to arrange for massages to be given in the privacy of the
suite along with flowers, chocolates or gift baskets made up of local products.
For those who enjoy preparing their own food and sharing a romantic dinner in
the privacy of their suite, fully-equipped
kitchens make that possible. Continental
breakfast items are provided in each of the suites – coffee/creamer, tea, hot
chocolate, orange juice, homemade bread and jam, butter and cinnamon rolls. The
Senior Special that is posted on the website includes breakfast for two at a
local restaurant.
Holmes with a View is one of only a few lodging accommodations in the area that
offer two bedroom/2 bath suites. These have been very popular for family
get-togethers, women’s groups and couples who enjoy traveling together.
The website, which gives an up close view and several great photos, can be

Miriam said that while the majority of bookings are made through the website, a
good portion of their business comes the good old-fashioned way, by word of
mouth and the return of former guests. She continued, “The information and
photos online definitely give people an idea of what we have to offer, although
we’ve been told time and again that the pictures don’t do it justice. Earlier
this year we were able to implement a reservation service for those individuals
who prefer to do it themselves online and that seems to be working very well.”
Although they’ve always offered gift certificates, Holmes with a View is now
offering their very own Gift Cards, which are easier to carry and available in
any dollar amount. “Gift certificates have always been a popular item in the
past, particularly this time of year,” Miriam said. “We believe that the gift
cards will be an even bigger seller and more convenient since they can be
carried in your wallet. A Gift Card Special is also posted on our website for
anyone interested.”
As with all great lodging accommodations, the Grossi’s continue to make changes
to enhance their already fantastic suite options.
“We are in the process of renovating one of the suites,” Miriam added. “We’re
changing things a bit, scaling down the kitchen to a kitchenette to allow space
to upgrade from a queen-size bed to a king-size and to also be able to add a
big screen TV. While keeping the same two person whirlpool tub inside, they
will be adding a hot tub in an enclosure on the secluded exterior deck. This
newly updated suite should be available mid to late December, 2007, just in
time for New Year’s Eve. Be sure to watch for new pictures and detailed
information about this luxury suite on their website.
Holmes with a View is located on Township Road 154, just off State Route 557,
past Guggisberg Cheese and their restaurant, Chalet in the Valley. As 557
curves to the left, bear to the right up the hill onto Township Road 154 and
continue approximately ? mile to the top of the hill. Holmes with a View will
be on your left.
