Only OACountry.com gives you the ability to make your own tour of Ohio's Amish Country. Use our mapping feature to plan your days in Amish Country right down to the mile and the minute. Now you have the power to create the destinations you want to see by routing them in the order of your liking. 1) Adding Businesses to your Custom Tour
• Using the Visitor’s Guide or while browsing our site, certain destinations may be added to your custom tour. You can add a business to your tour using the Add To Tour button found above the business address.
• Once you have clicked the Add to Tour button, an orange info bar will appear confirming that destination has been added to your Custom Tour. Notice the link below the confirmation in the orange box screen shot below. Click on the View your tour link to preview your tour after adding a destination. Keep in mind that you must have two destinations added to your tour before the map with generate a preview.
2) Custom Tour Preview
• After clicking the View your tour link, you will be directed to a preview page of you custom tour. You will also be given detailed information of Tour Time and Tour Distances. See the screen shot below. Not only can you preview your route, just to the right of the map you can see your Total Tour Time and Tour Distance. Also just right of the map, you can click on the Get Directions button to view the map in a new printer friendly window where you can add custom destinations avoid highways and much more. In this area you will also find a link to clear your Custom Tour, if you wish to start over.
• Just to the left of the map preview in the main navigation you will be given an anchor of your tour that will follow you throughout your visit of OACountry.com so you can go back to your tour page from anywhere on the website. Below the map preview you will have a list of the destinations currently on your tour. From here you can delete a destination off your tour or visit the destinations company detail pages.
3) Get Directions Map Interface
• When you do click on the Get Directions button you will be able to view your Custom Tour in a new printer friendly pop up window. If you notice in the first image below, you need to first type in your starting address. After typing in your starting address, submit your address by clicking the Get Directions button and watch the map build your Custom Tour.
• Now after you click the Get Directions button we generate your map. The map is completely interactive and offers the options of saving your map until your next OACountry.com visit or avoiding highways while on your trip. You can also remove destinations at this point or add a custom destination if you plan on making a stop somewhere else while on your trip to Amish Country. Click on the Print link in the top right corner of the browser window to print your directions.
