Wood scraps are recycled into mulch. Sawdust becomes bedding for livestock.

Heat from the diesel engine that runs their production tools is recycled into radiant heat for warming their manufacturing woodshop. Air in the finish room is exchanged every minute, much higher than the required standard. In addition, the exchanged air runs through three filters before being released.

The efforts of Homestead Furniture don’t stop there. An extensive arboretum is being established that will allow customers to see first-hand the various hardwoods that are used for their incredible hardwood furniture.

The arboretum will also feature a pond with water fountains and waterfalls. Hydro, solar and wind turbines will power the pumps and other electrical needs. A cabin and pavilion for weddings and community use will also be built.
